When one of our pets gets injured or has to have surgery, it can be overwhelming for us two-legged people as the dogs can’t communicate what they are feeling. But there are many reasons to consider massage for an injury or even after surgery:
Removing toxins from the body such as anesthesia
Reducing swelling
Working on other muscles that have to compensate for the affected condition (ie opposite legs if one is injured)
General calming and relaxation to reduce stress
I would assess your dog’s individual situation and discuss with you what techniques I use to help achiever relief / recovery for your pet.
